Luka Štrubelj is a Research Associate on Governance, Legal & Ethical Factors at CO2RE and a Research Fellow in Environmental Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford.
Luka completed his undergraduate legal degree at the Ljubljana Law Faculty, University of Ljubljana. During his studies, he participated in a study exchange at Leiden Law Faculty, University of Leiden, where he focused on the regulatory treatment of novel technologies and human rights. He completed an LLM in Law at the Edinburgh School of Law, University of Edinburgh.
He worked on several research projects at the Faculty of Law, engaging with relevant stakeholders, concentrating on analysis of existing regulatory frameworks, and proposing their improvements. He also gained legal experience as an in-house lawyer. During his studies at the University of Edinburgh, he wrote a thesis on the EU’s regulatory treatment of biochar and developed his interest in research of Greenhouse Gas Removals.
