GGR-D Programme documentaries
Are you curious about greenhouse gas removal and how it works? The Greenhouse Gas Removal Demonstrators (GGR-D) Programme is conducting research on five different methods of GGR at sites around the UK: biochar, peatlands, enhanced rock weathering, woodland creation and management, and perennial biomass crops. NetZeroPlus
The NetZeroPlus Demonstrator project is researching how woodland creation and management can contribute to GGR and restore biodiversity.
Perennial Biomass Crops (PBC4GGR)
The Perennial Biomass Crops (PBC4GGR) Demonstrator project is conducting research to find out how crops like miscanthus and willow can support bioenergy with carbon capture and storage in the UK.
GGR-Peat
Peatlands can store CO2 for millennia, but many in the UK are drying out and releasing CO2 due to human activity. The GGR-Peat Demonstrator project is researching how to reverse this process so we can ensure that our peatlands are able to act as long-term carbon sinks.
Enhanced Rock Weathering
The Enhanced Rock Weathering Demonstrator project is looking at how crushing silicate rocks and spreading them over farmland can accelerate natural carbon sequestration processes so they absorb more CO2.
Biochar
In this documentary, researchers from the the Biochar Demonstrator project explain how biochar is made, how it could contribute to greenhouse gas removal, what benefits it might have for soil health, and how they hope their research will inform policymakers.
The CO2RE Hub
Together, CO2RE and the Demonstrators form the UKRI Greenhouse Gas Removal Demonstrators (GGR-D) Programme. The CO2RE Hub is responsible for co-ordinating the GGR-D Programme and undertaking solutions-led research on GGR.

Community
CO2RE holds a £1 million Flexible Fund which will be used to fill in gaps and needs identified in the GGR community during the lifetime of the Programme. The fund will support work to address research and engagement gaps through three approaches.
