Dr Elizabeth Baldwin

Co-lead on Economic Policies & Incentives

University of Oxford

Associate Professor, Department of Economics, University of Oxford

Elizabeth Baldwin is co-lead on Economic policies and incentives at CO2RE. Elizabeth is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, and a Fellow in Economics at Hertford College, at the University of Oxford. She works in environmental economics and microeconomic theory. She has advised on auction design to the Bank of England, DECC, BEIS, and the RSPB, including the CfD auctions that underpin the UK offshore wind industry.

Elizabeth’s research follows two themes: consumer theory for indivisible goods, and the economics of climate change. She is particularly interested in the theoretical concept of how this topic should be approached, given our limited experience with the extent to which warming could damage human welfare. Her work also includes studying optimal subsidies under technological progress.
