Professor of Carbon Capture and Storage, University of Edinburgh 

Stuart Haszeldine is the Lead on Policy, Business & Governance at CO2RE, and a member of the Hub’s Management Board. He is Professor of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) at the University of Edinburgh. Stuart is focused on the whole-chain science and business of Carbon Capture and Storage to dispose of CO2 deep below ground. He is Co-I of the EPSRC UKCCS Research Centre, Director of Scottish CCS (the largest CCS research centre in the UK) and created the UK Biochar Research Centre for secure and profitable biochar carbon storage in soils. 

Stuart has over 35 years of research experience in energy and environment and is the world’s first professor of Carbon Capture and Storage.
