This document presents the output of a workshop hosted by CO2RE on 3 July 2023 on monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) for greenhouse gas removal (GGR). The purpose of the workshop was to understand different user needs and priorities in relation to credible and achievable MRV, which would help in framing the perspectives in a review of the current landscape of MRV regulations, protocols, frameworks, certification, standards, and schemes for GGR. The workshop provided an opportunity to hear from academics and experts in the field of MRV, as well as to allow for participant discussion on the current gaps, barriers, opportunities, (un)certainties, and user priorities. There were 42 registrations (36 attended in person and 6 were solely online), with government, academics, and environmental non-governmental organisations represented.
