CO2RE Artists: Ben Weaver-Hincks

Pathways: A Possible Futures Podcast

Pathways: A Possible Futures Podcast is a five-part speculative fiction audio series and accompanying digital resource. It will explore the futures we build through the decisions we make today, seeking to widen and deepen public engagement with climate change mitigation technologies including land-based and novel greenhouse gas removals. Through this, it will foreground themes of justice and democracy, seek to harness collective agency, and work to shift the focus of climate change narratives from an impacts-only lens towards a solutions-first perspective.

Inspired by the IPCC’s Shared Socioeconomic Pathways, each episode of Pathways will be dedicated to exploring the world of one of five potential futures. Episodes will feature immersive sound design, original music, compelling human stories, and evocative descriptions of science and technology to bring the late 21st century to life. Crucially, each episode will include characters engaged on the front line of climate action, including greenhouse gas removal through novel technologies, soil carbon sequestration and ecosystem restoration.
