By invitation only. This workshop will take place in Bristol (venue tbc).
CO2RE has identified Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) as one of six key needs for ensuring that Greenhouse Gas Removal (GGR) techniques are able to develop rapidly, effectively and responsibly, alongside action to reduce emissions.
Without accurate and transparent systems of MRV, it is not possible to track the deployment and effectiveness of GGR. MRV enables decision-makers to monitor progress against targets (UK carbon budgets and international Nationally Determined Contributions) and informs the development of incentives and regulations.
The purpose of this workshop is to enable knowledge exchange on the MRV landscape for GGR, and to share different perspectives on issues around developing an MRV framework for a UK context. The day will include a mixture of presentations and interactive group discussions.
Led by Dr Jo House and Dr Sue Rodway-Dyer, this workshop will bring together CO2RE researchers working on MRV (both carbon and non-carbon), life-cycle assessment, environmental impacts, and regulation and governance, with policymakers and others with an interest in MRV for the GGR sector.
